Master of Philosophy (MPhil) - industry based

MPhil - industry based

The ANU has extended its graduate program to include an Industry based Masters program in engineering, where the emphasis is not only on technical research and development, but also on training the student in the management of rapid change within a commercial setting.

The course requires the student to undertake an extensive placement within a partner company working on a defined industrial project, thereby gaining valuable industry experience. The aim is to produce innovative thinkers who possess solid research skills and the ability to transfer these skills to an industrial environment.

The Industry-based Masters course enables the ANU to develop and focus its contacts with industry and to generate new research directions. For the industry partner, the program provides access to research of a high calibre and a chance to develop innovative solutions to manufacturing and production problems.

The typical candidate for such a program is highly motivated with a good academic record in engineering or physical science, and one to two years work experience. The duration of the Industry based Masters is 1-2 years full time study.
